Billing

dev-mux is a subscription. This page covers the plans, how annual pricing works, and one thing we want to be upfront about: how Tailscale's own pricing interacts with the Team plan.

Plans

• Solo — $15/mo ($150/yr). One managed hub, provisioned and operated by us. The whole product with none of the hub ops.
• Team (5 seats) — $50/mo ($500/yr). A managed hub for a team of up to five, with per-seat access.
• Custom — contact-us. Bespoke setup, including a self-hosted or on-prem hub inside your own perimeter. Not sold self-serve; talk to us and we'll scope it.

Annual billing is two months free — the annual price is ten months at the monthly rate.

What "managed" includes

On the Solo and Team plans we provision your hub, keep it updated on a health-gated, auto-rollback pipeline (see Updates), take daily snapshots, and hold none of your source code at rest. Your agent sessions transit the hub's memory while running; your repositories and transcripts are not stored on our servers.

Changing plans and seats

• Upgrade / downgrade takes effect for your next period.
• Team seats map to the people who can access your hub. Adding a person is a seat; removing them frees it.
• Cancellation ends at the close of your current period — you keep access through the time you paid for. (Refund specifics are being finalized; see the note below.)

The honest Tailscale note (Team plan)

dev-mux runs over Tailscale, which has its own pricing — separate from your dev-mux subscription — that is worth understanding before you buy a Team plan:

• Tailscale's free Personal plan covers solo and small personal use, but its

terms are non-commercial use only.

• Commercial team use requires one of Tailscale's paid plans, billed per

user by Tailscale.

So a team using dev-mux commercially will typically owe Tailscale a per-user charge on top of the dev-mux Team subscription. This is a Tailscale cost, not a dev-mux cost, and it is driven by Tailscale's *terms* (commercial use), not by your headcount fitting the free tier's numbers. Your managed hub consumes exactly one tagged Tailscale resource. For current tiers and per-user rates, see Tailscale's own pricing page: <https://tailscale.com/pricing>.

We would rather you hear this from our docs than discover it at your first Tailscale invoice. Solo users on personal, non-commercial tailnets are unaffected.

Refunds

If you cancel, your subscription runs to the end of the billing period you have already paid for — there are no prorated refunds for the unused remainder. If you are a first-time subscriber, a 14-day money-back guarantee applies: contact support within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. See the Refund Policy for the full terms.

Taxes

Applicable sales tax / VAT is calculated at checkout where required.
